Stagecoach one of many music festivals in Top 50 events

Stagecoach passes for local residents go on sale Wednesday at the Indian Wells Tennis Gardens. Then there’s just four or five more music festivals to go until summer.

Stagecoach: California’s Country Music Festival opens Friday, followed by the Hue Music & Arts Festival Saturday in Mecca. The Desert Lexus jazz festival is May 7 at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden and the Joshua Tree Music Festival unwinds on May 12. The Shakti Festival of Yoga and Sacred Music also starts May 12 in Joshua Tree.

If you count the Open Desert Music & Photographic Arts Showcase, featuring four bands and a photo exhibition May 7 at the Palm Springs Art Museum, that’s a half-dozen more festivals in just two weeks. And, if you’re going to consider a showcase a festival, you’ll also have to count the Tachevah Music Showcase on May 18 at the Date Shed in Indio. Then there’s the CV Music Showcase May 7 at the Hard Rock Hotel Palm Springs and, well, let’s just nip this in the bud.
