Do you love gardening? Do you want to learn more about growing plants in the desert? Would you like to share your knowledge with the community? The Master Gardener program might be for you!
What all Master Gardeners share is a desire to give back to the community through volunteer work, educating and training other home gardeners in safe and sustainable gardening practices.
Master Gardeners receive more than 50 hours of instruction from University of California Cooperative Extension specialists. In return, Master Gardeners volunteer within the community and continue their gardening education. It is open to individuals who wish to increase their knowledge and horticultural skills — no previous experience necessary.
To be considered for the program, you must attend one of the following information sessions at UCR Palm Desert: 9 to 11 a.m. Sept. 21 or 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 19.
